The Anger Of The Nations

Q. What has caused so much hatred for Israel?  Why do so many countries want to attack and destroy her?  It seems that this has been the case for many, many years and I just wonder when it all started.

A.  The world’s dislike for Israel actually began when God chose the Jewish people as His own and promised them a kingdom in the Middle East.  He chose Isaac over Ishmael, and then Jacob over Esau to see his promise fulfilled.

Right from the beginning Satan began stirring up anger and resentment in the hearts of those who weren’t chosen.  When Israel became a nation, obedient to the covenant God had made with them, He protected them against this anger and resentment, but when they were not he withdrew His protection as a form of discipline.

Since the Jews rejected the Messiah, the anger of the nations has been steadily growing and with Satan’s encouragement has erupted into outrageous acts of violence against the Jews on many occasions.  As the end of the age comes nearer it will require God’s personal intervention to save the Jewish people.   But He has promised to do so, and to punish the nations for their acts of violence against Israel.
