Will Israel Be Prosperous?
Q. It is taught by various prophecy teachers that the nation of Israel will be a very prosperous one at the end of the age. I am wondering if you share that view and if so what scriptures you use to support it?
A. The belief that Israel will be a prosperous nation in the end times is based on an assumption that there has to be sufficient financial incentive for Russia (Magog) to justify helping the Moslem nations attack Israel in what’s called the Battle of Ezekiel 38. This assumption is based on rhetorical questions Sheba, Dedan (Saudi Arabia) and the merchants of Tarshish (Great Britain) and her strong lions (former British colonies) will ask. “Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?” (Ezekiel 38:13)
I think Israel’s recent oil and gas discoveries will prove valuable enough to get Russia’s attention and provide an affirmative answer to these questions.
