Prophecy Overview " The End of the World, according to Jesus" ~ Matthew 24

The End of the World, according to Jesus

Every generation has an obsession with the end of the world.  Most are tragic endings when the sun explodes, the earth turns on itself, and most tell the story of the end of humanity. We LOVE this stuff!!
Movies like 2012, Armageddon, the whole Left Behind Series, even to some extent the Twilight series, make us feel vulnerable and tease our natural sense of fear into a false sense of pandemonium.
I've never been one who enjoys engaging in the manipulation of people's fears, but...Jesus did have something to say about the time when the world would wind down.
"How Is the world going to end?" the question the disciples asked even in Jesus time.
Matthew 24:1-3 begins to explain,
Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
So...evidently there is an "End of the Age" because there are signs that will point to a specific time.
The Question is...What does that mean?  What is the end of the age?  What age are we talking about here?
Is Jesus setting the stage to reveal the end of the world?  Or, is He merely talking about a time when the end of the age of the disciples would be finished?
I can't wait to go through Matthew 24 with you and see where Jesus will take us on the "end of the Age."  One thing I want you to remember though,
FEAR IS NOT FROM THE LORD.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1), so as we discuss the coming of the end of the age, let us not be fearful. For greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.  No matter what the world has to offer, we must remember, GOD CREATED IT ALL ANYWAY.
So it doesn't matter if we talk of 'One World Governments,' 'One World Currency,' or even the talk of 'Anti-Christ,' For God is even more powerful than all those things.  (although we probably won't cross those words unless necessary)
It just frustrates me that there are those believers out there who continue to use fear to manipulate people to give finances, power, or influence.  It's a disgrace to the honor of the King of Kings, and I will NOT be one of those.
So let's talk about Matthew 24, together.
Let's discover what Jesus meant on this, the last of His teachings before the Cross.
May we allow the Word of God to help us re-discover the Christian Worldview.

I have Bad News for some, and Good News for others and a real News Flash for the Author:

Biblical Points highlighted from Article

  • NONE STATED

Presumptions exaggerated from Article

  • Every generation is obsessed with End of the World
  • We love "end of the world" catastrophe's
  • Movies make us feel vulnerable, fearful and invoke pandemonium
  • 2012 the movie made people fearful
  • Left Behind Series made people fearful, vulnerable and subject to pandemonium
  • End of the World is really End of the Age of Apostles
  • Fear is not from the Lord

I have to admit, when I first read the article, I thought O GOOD, another person recognizing the times we live in and have a mature and intelligent discussion about Jesus Soon Return and the End of the Age of the Church, the Rapture, the Tribulation and the Signs of the Times that we are living in.

Of course when I outlined the talking points I realized, O GOD, not another Rapture Fractured. (Rapture Fractured is a term coined to describe those who "have to" deny the Return of Jesus Soon for personal reasons no one really wants to know)

  1. Scholars can list all Points of View and take a certain position fairly
  2. Deniers have to Deny the fact of a position, premise, post or scripture no matter what the reason
  3. Dividers like to provoke and invoke division to create a "hostile" rejection/objection
  4. Distracters like to change the point being made to 'sidestep' an issue.
  5. Wise Men will listen and agree on some points and think about others, often pondering many things.
In the post above, so much is implied, IT IS REQUIRED you Swallow the Pill of the statements made, so  you are by associative assertion, "influenced" to go against what you know to be true.

Jesus said,
"Many will come in my name, saying I am annointed, I am appointed."

How can you know the Truth?

No offense, but if you don't know my now, you are almost S.O.L and yes that means what you think because there is a massive move to convince you to "Go to Work, or Look," Be content or active in voting and politics. Stay convinced you're Ok and everyone else needs salvation and be confident the Bible Says you are a Christians so you can almost do what you want and not worry,

YOU ARE GOING HOME SOON

Well,

Some are.

Are you?

Matthew 24 is Here

1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple:

and his disciples came to him
for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them,

See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you,

There shall not be left here one stone upon another,
that shall not be thrown down.

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives,

the disciples came unto him privately, saying,
Tell us, when shall these things be?
and what shall be the sign of thy coming,
and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them,

Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying,

I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars:

see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass,
but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:

and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10And then shall many be offended,

and shall betray one another,
and shall hate one another.

11And many false prophets shall rise,

and shall deceive many.

12And because iniquity shall abound,

the love of many shall wax cold.

13But he that shall endure unto the end,

the same shall be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached

in all the world
for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,

spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place,
(whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child,

and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter,

neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation,

such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,
no,
nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened,

there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

23Then if any man shall say unto you,

Lo,
here is Christ,
or there;
believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs,

and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible,
they shall deceive the very elect.

25Behold, I have told you before.

26Wherefore if they shall say unto you,

Behold, he is in the desert;
go not forth:
behold,
he is in the secret chambers;
believe it not.

27For as the lightning cometh out of the east,

and shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28For wheresoever the carcase is,

there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened,

and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven,
and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:

and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming
in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
(Matthew 24, King James Version)

If you read that and were concerned,
You have a right relationship with Jesus most likely and know you need to Pray More and Seek Him as well as Uncover More about the "end of the age"

If you read that and walked away supremely confident, that is not faith, sorry, you should be very concerned about not being counted worthy to be spared all these things and take literal what Jesus is warning about.

If, like me, you know that whether you live, or whether you die, whether you are taken in the Rapture or left behind to suffer and die in Tribulation,

"It is God that worketh
both to do and to will
of His good pleasure"

Meaning you know God did not spare his only begotten Son
and if so be he spare you not you too,
 you are in good company
with Jesus

  1. Reconsider the Times we Live in
  2. Repent of Sin you are in.
  3. Restore the Love for Jesus you had
  4. Resist the distractions and attractions for deception.
  5. Quit Trying for greater ministry, job, title, work salvations or Life goals.
Get quiet. Listen.
Humble yourself now
Simply and Peronally
and
Walk Calmly and Peacefully with God Today
Tomorrow, the next.

And one day soon
 you may walk away
from all this mess
about to happen
